One of Gettysburg's greatest assets is the Licensed Battlefield Guide program. There are many ways to tour the battlefield and learn about Gettysburg and the Civil War, but perhaps one of the most interactive and informative ways is to hire a Licensed Battlefield Guide.

Licensed Battlefield Guides (LBG) having been serving guests since 1915. Only after successfully completing an application, written exam, intensive weekend training seminar, oral examination, and finally licensing, can one become a Licensed Battlefield Guide. The process is administered through the National Park Service and therefore upholds the highest standards.

Tours can be catered to fit your needs. Whether you are just learning about the battle or you are a historian, there is a tour perfect for you. You can request a standard 2-hour tour or a customized tour both in content and length. Specialty tours such as motorcycles, bicycle & cemetery tours are also available.
